About

Who am I?  I’m a poet, a lover, a writer, a photographer, a computer geek, and a law geek.

Interviewer:  So, what is the deal with your name, anyway?
I live in the Southern United States.  My name has caused me a considerable amount of strife, but I like it.  One of the lovely things about going to other countries is that I don’t have to deal with the insults and threatening mannerism s brought forth by some angry African-Americans.  The original Jefferson Davis was the President of the Confederate States of America.  He was of Welsh ancestry.  I’m of Irish Ancestry.

Why do you write in British English on occasion?
Fair question, I suppose.  Some think that writing in the ‘Queen’s’ English is my way of being rebellious, but that’s not it at all.  I had a speech therapist when I was a lad that was from England.  She, along with my great-grandmother, sparked my interest in it.  Also, I surmise that it is easier to understand other languages once you know the history of your own, at least that has been the case with me.

So tell me, what kind of trades have you worked in during your almost 40 years on this planet?
I worked for my family for the most part up until 2000.  I’ve done just about everything, I would suppose.  I have been a manager of over a dozen people, I have done welding, I’ve also done landscaping, grading, and paving.  I was a clerk (unfortunately) for several years.  I have been an auditor for a large corporation.  And, I have spent the last six years working on my artistic abilities, trying to fine tune them and the like.

Why are you taking Law, now?
In short, I decided to get into law because quite frankly I was sick of being screwed over by it.  Everyone should know the law in their area at least.  It affects us all, whether we realise it or not.

Do you have a sense of humour?
A bit dry, I think.

Why do you ramble on about Ireland so much?
That’s a tough one.  When I was a lad, a teacher gave me a large travel book about Ireland to read and write a story about.  Inside the book was picture of happy kids that looked like me.  My family like at the time was not very desirable to say the least.  And, I was sick a lot as a child, so I think the book started my fascination with Eire.  In 2006, I fell in love with a Nor’n Iron woman, so my love for the island only increased.  You would have to understand the intricacies of my family to understand that.

You said you were sick as a child?  What the feck is wrong with you?
I have hypopituitarism, hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia, addisons disease, I’m blind in one eye, and I think that pretty much sums it up without getting too personal.  The doctors have been telling me for years that I wouldn’t be around much longer.  I have out lived some of them!  I hike for miles and act like a 20 year-old.  You can do anything you want to do in life!

Right!  I’m bored to tears, so I think we will call it finished.  Bullaí fir!
