I too worry about people that believe every word spewed by those on the left and right. We elect the Congress, and they make the laws. If it didn't work like that, you'd have special interest groups making the laws and running the country. No taxation without representation. :) It is a very hard problem to wrap one's head around. the Clinton's tried it in the 90's during the economic boom, but to no avail. The problem with America now is that we don't MAKE anything! If we start producing again, the economy will return and we'll have the cash flow to put together a proper programme. It's complicated. I can understand both points of view. As I told Grannymar yesterday, if I had all the money I've spent on health care back, I'd be a very rich man!!! :) Thanks Baino. I'm more concerned about the ill informed reaction to the debate. Sarah Palin's comments in particular. It's a complex act. Even Obama hasn't quite got his head around it. Seems to me it should have been written by a consultant or committee rather than Congress who have managed to make it very convoluted What I don't get is why the US doesn't adopt the Canadian or French model, you have a large enough population to cover it easily without too much tax pain Here someone like you would have been treated for free in the first instance. Although you would still have had difficulty getting cover for pre-existing conditions. Thoughtful stuff. I hope they manage to sort it out to most people's satisfaction. Good post JD.
