A friend of mine (experienced horse person) allowed me (inexperienced rider) to ride her championship dressage Quarter Horse (an arrogant horse). He allowed me to ride, reluctantly, but when he discovered that I often liked to walk beside a horse on a trail ride as much as ride ON them AND I always had carrots with me. We became fast friends and I doubt either of us will forget a slow-paced walk on a snowy night with a full moon. Truly amazing, horses are. Ahhhhh hanging out with horses is a treat.
