The Saint Patrick’s Day festivities in the wee place I call home, Greenville, South Carolina, were fantastic. The band, which I will go will talk about in the next post, was of the highest calibre. These are just a few shots I took when the beer started to pour.
I didn’t drink though! I was a man with a mission. When that darn camera is in my hand that is the only thing on my mind.
Also, I met a wonderful lass that I became friends with via myspace. Can you imagine such a thing as that? She is a sweetheart in persona as well as in the myspace realm. I just hate I was unable to spend more time chit chatting. And, I met a lenslady that works for the local paper. She had a bigger lens than me!
But, my images were better!
Nice photos, but erm….
How am I going to say this?
No. I don’t want to spoil the fun.
Ah! The hell with it….
St Patrick’s Day isn’t until Monday.
Or are they just celebrating your birthday?
JD Never mind that ould Goat! St Patrick is having a long weekend in Ireland this year.
Happy Birthday. old man!!!
So when is your birthday? Facebook says the 17th? Isn’t that St Pats day? Anyway, I was early with my b’day wishes so have a great weekend whenever the big day is. Nice pics, I’m going over to check out your Flickr site! What are those dogs doing in Australian sporting colours?
Grandad, “Return to Green” used to be celebrated the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day, but because the county in which I live desires to be politically correct and don’t want to offend the immigrants in my area, they renamed it. Sorry about the birthday fiasco, but my official birthday isn’t until March 18th.
Grannymar, thank you for taking up for me.
Brian F., It is not my freaking birthday, yet!
Baino, the dogs are wearing Australian sporting colours? That’s cool!
Again, sorry for the B’Day confusion.
JD
Love the county flags – haven’t seen a Down flag since I lived there in the mid-90s and Dublin flags are rare in these parts. The GAA, the only people who would really use the flags much, is a strongly rural organisation (it has 800,000 members), south Dublin would be more rugby playing than GAA.
The pipe band is Scots!
