It’s about Effing Time!!!

There I was about to write a post about how I am never blessed with awards or money for all the things I do from writing poetry to taking fantabulous photos, when I received fantastic news! A local real estate office wants to use one of my photos for the front cover of their magazine, and they are willing to pay me some green backs! I should know more in the next few days. Wow! :) I am totally like….Blown Away!!! :)

  1. Hey! Well done, that is so cool! I had something similar happen with some shots I took of the Marimba players a while back and posted on my blog – the local tourist board contacted me and wanted to use the shots in their brochure. Since I do actually do a bit of freelance photography I said that was fine and we could negotiate a rate – ha, never heard from them. People, it seems, prefer to try and get things for free. Very, very cool that the agents want to pay you!

  2. Vanilla, a graphic design company in Canada is the one creating the magazine for the local real estate company. They contacted me and offered to pay, but I don’t know how much yet. I replied, but I’ve not heard anything from them today. I sure hope it works out. :)

    Brian F., thanks dude! :)

Grannymar, Absolutely!!! :) I need all the money I can put in there! Them darn exchange rates are hectic on my wallet! :)

  3. I told you to put them up for sale with a photo library or something. You have to splash yourself around a bit more! If you’re giving them exclusive rights to use the photo, you can charge a few hundred. If you’re giving it to them Royalty Free (means others can use it as well), your fee should be much lower. Here, this will give you an idea what to charge

http://www.shutterstock.com about $200 minimum per download of copyrighted pics.

    Good luck!
