Hands Outstretched

It seems that almost everywhere I wander in the blogosphere, I discover stories of bloodshed, hardship, poverty, famine, and the like. All of that, along with the side show of 2008, the American Presidential election. I’m not going to add to the mountain of useless complaints and unceasing bickering.

In 2008, I hope to spread a few things across the interwebbs. I promise to be good boy and not send a batch of virtual mustard gas to a few world leaders (I really hate calling them that, because they are anything but leaders…..more like losers.)that shall remain nameless. :) Instead, I hope to spread a bit of love, hope, kindness, and humility through photography, short stories, and poetry. Even in the darkest and gloomiest days of our lives, we can discover benignity and love.

I worry about our troubled times just like most of you, but there comes a time when you or I have to make a decision of whether we want to be here to battle another day or die a useless and agonising death (Death is useless)of vexing over such things as if God really exist or not. I realise that I’m starting to sound like a hippy, but relax and enjoy life to the best of your ability.

Speaking of God, I’m going to leave you with Rudy Giuliani’s latest ad that will literally scare you to spiritual enlightenment. He is following right in Bush’s footsteps with fear tactics. He, and others like him, will inevitably scare people into voting for them. It is very sad, but I can’t help but laugh at the idiocy of it. :)

  1. Oh goodness…some of my tales of murder, gore and mayhem may be as guilty as anyone. I must admit though, I did kind of like the irony of this post following your previous one…a story about death! ;) As a songwriter once said, “it’s pain, misery and heartache that make for the best tunes.”

  2. Keep the goodness coming JD. I keep away from politics because thinking about it makes me cross and thats bad for my heart. Talking about it makes me bitter and thats bad for my heart, soul and and everyone around me!

  3. Bloody hell JD, that’s a scary ad! I guess he was on the ground on 7/11 and it’s made quite an impact but still . . . surely the US has other issues to deal with than terrorist scaremongering. What’s he going to do, build a fence around the US or invade Iran? I thought there were domestic issues to tackle – your economy isn’t doing too well, the war in Iraq is costing a bomb, health and education are in strife . . .

Keep up the hippyness . . .I’m an alternative type myself. And as a good friend of mine would say – Peace Out :)

  4. DBA, nah they don’t bother me. :) It is all the political garbage that bums me out. :)

Grannymar, it makes me cross too! :)

Suzan, I’d melt if it weren’t for a tough outer shell. :) I can’t wait to fly into Dublin. :)

AV, these politicians know that fear is a powerful motivator. It is mostly the uneducated that buy into this garbage. Thank you, V. I shall be right over. :)

Baino, we’ve got more problems than you can shake a stick at! :)

    Brian F., Amen brother!!! :)

P.S.: Sorry for taking a day to respond. It has been a crazy weekend. :)
