Climbing Higher

Road less Travelled

I sometimes fear to live life,
I fear of oeuvre, I fear of night,
I dread driving my car in daylight.

Lunacy, an ideology,
it strips us of our reality.
What is factual, what is fake,
It’s too much for my head to take.

And then it strikes me,
Reality.
The thing we forgot about,
The thing that we froze out.

The cosmos, the galaxy,
the sun, moon, stars, and seas.
It’s so elementary really, so easy to embrace,
We are drifting on a wild boulder in space.

But the globe is spinning
At a high rate of speed
We’re devoured by hate,
By fright and greed.

We strive to vie,
To be the best;
No one will stop us,
Survival upon request.

To desire the world,
It makes no sense,
What’s here and now,
Is much more immense.

 Life’s not ’bout the
Hands we shake,
It’s all ‘bout the
Bonds we make.

It’s ascending to that
Higher state,
It’s benevolence we share,
We gravitate.

The incessant negativity,
We must rise above,
Because all we really crave

is Love.

  1. Thanks Grannymar. :) Don’t be envious of me. The pattern is all broken up and it makes no sense in the beginning, but I do like the ending. :) Thank you for being so kind. :)

  2. Thanks ladies! I shall post poems more frequently in the future. Between photography, school, and work, I’ve had very little creative energy left for poems.

Thanks again everyone. I really appreciate the kind words. :)

  3. G, tis sooo true. :) Yeah, there was a bit of the “Beatles” influence in that line. Except, I changed need to crave. :)

Baino, you are soo funny! I’ve got to come to Oz one of these days, just so I can learn to talk and scribe like you! Everything you say is hilarious! :) I mean that in the kindest funniest way!

  4. G’day Gaye. Just popped over to your place (I do from time to time) I didn’t realise you were an expat! Truth be told, I bung it on a bit for the boys. They love it!
