Strings to Taut

Folks, I sincerely apologise for my absense and absence of worthy stories or pictures. I’ve been sick over the past week and gradually got so bad that I made myself a doctors appointment for in the morning. Anyway, I’ll save you the imagery of mucus, puss, and a runny nose. :)

P.S.:  Don’t forget about phoctober.  There is only one day left to join in the fun.

Sottish Remembrances

Folks, I’m working on a few post for tomorrow evening, but until then, please enjoy some more phoctober goodness and some besotted scribbles.

P.S.: I do not condone drinking!

ScotchVodka B&W

Take my hands in yours; let me gaze into

Your angelic eyes. Let me observe your

Heavenly voice, tease me, release me

Of this passionate spell that only your

Kiss can set me free of.

I am like a caged bird looking

For the key. Be my Aphrodite, be my

Venus, be my Eve, unbind my wings.

Love me like the budgerygah you are,

O’ beloved one.

I want to awake in the morn’ sun,

And see you, to be able to touch you,

And hear your heart flutter.

Then; my love, my beloved hen,

This keyhole, which is etched in my soul can

Be filled. Then I can arise

With a smile. I shall not have to

Dread the coop shaped sunrise that

Makes you a vestige upon my thoughts ‘til I

Can close my eyes and slumber once more.

Power Outage

Last night, as I was reclining on the couch, my entire neighbourhood lost power. Steadfastly, I jumped up, almost stumbling over the coffee table in the process, grabbed a nearby candle, and proceeded to ignite it. I called the family down the road to make sure they were surviving the blackness, then I walked outside amongst the stars. It was a glorious evening, with only the moon and stars to cast shadows upon the earth. It was quite an inspiring event to observe the twinkling stars and the pure luminance of the moon. I rarely get to observe the stars at home, because of all the light pollution around me.

So, I pondered that we should all turn off the power for about two or three hours every week. Not only would this conserve massive amounts of natural resources, it would also give us a better appreciation of what we have. I love technology as much as the next person, but I reckon we’ve lost touch with nature. Today, ailments are cured temporarily silenced or made worse by chemical compounds and miracle pills, when nature provides a cure for any ailment.

Heck, my grandmother used to brew make a wildflower cough syrup that could not only cure all your ills, but it could also energise you enough to pick every piece of cotton in the field and any other chore she could muster up.

Anyway, after all of that thinking, I came in and played with the camera for a while. Below are some of my phoctober bêtises. :)
