Please enjoy the music, while I curse my art professor. She tries to stomp this idea in our heads that art isn’t “art”, unless it is a Wood, Basquiat, Rothenberg, or one of the other famous American visual artist. Just the very idea of art not being “Art”, unless it is by someone prestigious makes me want to barf!!! It is an arsenic idea that someone stamped into her head. In fact, she went on to say that if we pick a painting that is not by a well known artist for our Thesis, she’d count off for it!
I have thoroughly enjoyed learning all the intricacies and terminology in the art world. Art has always been a fascination for me. I spent a half an hour the other day, observing the fabulous detail work in Enoch Wood Perry Jr.’s, The last Vision of Jeanne d’ Arc (1903).
Anyway, please enjoy Leslie Feist’s song, 1234, on the David Letterman show a few weeks back. I really…really dig a chick that can play the guitar!!!
