This poem was originally written on June 13th of 2006. It is very simple poem that I’ve not touched, since the day it was written. Only recently have I been able to look at it, without hating myself. Do you remember the promise I spoke of in a previous post? Well, this is part of said promise. (Put a sock in it, J.D.) What say you?
Tears run deep
Even in sleep
Every tear that flows,
Causes me great sorrow
Tears flow along her face,
Tears caused by my disgrace,
And shimmer down her cheeks.
Whimpering in defeat
Pooling in her lips
For I’m such a fool
A fool in vain
For the tears are falling like rain
Tears falling from her chin
Falling to the ground
Gathering in a mound
Tears will dry,
When I come through the sky.
Wipe those tears away baby,
Because I’m coming to stay.
I’ve kissed your lips
And felt your breath
A sweet embrace
That will never be misplaced

This is a really pure love poem. So pure in fact, that instead of it bringing lost lovers to my mind, it made me think of the guilt that I feel when I make my daughter cry after I’ve shouted at her.
It’s such a harsh position to be in with someone you love so much… to be cruel to be kind.
This poem sums up such an argument beautifully, the storm, the tears, the tight hug afterwards
Awww…Thank you, K8. I’m glad it touched someone.
