Micro instead of Macro

Today, I snapped several pictures of flowers, whilst bees buzzed round me, labouring heavy loads of pollen in their sacks. While sitting in the garden behind the “Peace Centre“, I was inundated with bees. They’d bump into me, as if I was blocking their regular route to the flowers. After taking several pictures, I leapt to my feet and walked on, without ever being stung. It was as if two creatures that normally waged war against one another, decided to exist in serene harmony for a moment.

After taking a multitude of micro pics, I decided to capture some of the architecture downtown. So, I sped along the wide paving stones on Main Street, snapping photos as I walked. Being the inquisitive man that I am, I decide to capture some of the people, as they came in and out of the shops. A young man came running up to me, asking, “What do you think you are taking pictures of?”

“Architecture and scenery”, I replied, whilst smiling.

“Well, don’t let me catch you taking pictures of me or my girlfriend again, or I’ll break your camera”, he hollered, while motioning in the manner that he would destroy my camera.

“Listen pal, I don’t care about you are your girlfriend! If I want to snap photos of the sun, I have the right to do so”, I replied, as I rearranged my shirt in case I had to brawl.

“Don’t let it happen again!”

“You won’t get the last word with me, pal!”

“What’s your problem?”

“I don’t know, I was peacefully taking some photos, when you came running over here, attempting to start something with me, so as to impress your girlfriend”, I screamed, as I set my camera and bag down.

“Whatever.”

“If you want to start something….let’s go. I’ll break that pretty little nose of yours”!

He and his girlfriend walked away, and I felt redeemed.

People in the south are very funny about getting their picture taken. It’s as if you are stealing their soul or something. Of course, the camera shyness falls away, when people get bevvied. :-)
