Are you free?

“Men”, a thunderous voice roars.

“Are you ready to die for the motherland?”

“Lady Liberty is wailing napalm tears, beckoning our assistance.”

“She doesn’t want us join the soullessness in Iraq, but to free her of the tyrannical politicians that have anchored her to Liberty Island.”

“Should her cries fall upon deaf ears?”

“Are we men or mere pawns to the heads of state?”

“It matters not what colour, creed, or rank you are.”

“My forefathers died for the U.S. of A., Ireland, and Scotland….As I’m sure yours did for their countries of origin.”

“How can we call ourselves men, if we are not free?”

“Do you think because you have a home and automobile that you are free?”

“Ha”

“Etch this day in your soul’s gentleman.”

“It is said that politicians make history, while the peasants write songs.”

“Not on this day.”

“The tears shed by Lady Liberty will not be disregarded, nor will the sacrifices made on this day.”

“Are we men are mice”

“Men”, sounds out across the crowd.

“Are you ready to stand for her, as she has stood for you in times of war and hardship?”

“Are you ready to be written into the history books?”

“Are you ready to disinvest a despot?”

“Hooooooooaaahhh!”

An ear-splitting reverberation spills into the streets of Washington D.C., as Jefferson Davis and a sea of men march towards the White House.

Shall I go on?

I have a whole backlog of speeches. :-) Some even include historical facts. Yes, that is correct folks; I don’t make decisions by my gut reaction alone. :-)

  1. First of all the statue is in fact bolted and welded to Libery Island and always will be! Where should we move it to? Moscow? The fucking neo-communists like Hillary and crowd would do just that. Wake the fuck up and smell the coffee burning! We are a country founded on LIBERTY!!! Look that word up in the dictionary.
I completely disagree with you on this post and find it to be somewhat anti-american. It’s so fucking easy to bash on the US because you aren’t thinking about what you are saying. Stop watching CNN and start thinking for yourself! You’ll find that despite the mistakes made by our current administration that they have not gone to the criminal ends that the clintonistas did.
And you want to vote for Hillary?
Cut me a break and turn off your TV and think for yourself. Do a bit of research and learn something. When you do you will stop parroting the main stream media/communist horse shit!

  2. Anti-American Aye? Well, so fucking be it. That’s the whole point of “LIBERTY” and “Freedom”, is to be able to freely speak one’s mind.

TV? I don’t have time to sit around on my arse watching the garbage! I get the news straight from the horse’s mouth, AP and Reuters.

Books? Yeah, I read a book a week, but not that political horseshit that comes out of the capitals of the world. I read romance novels and poetry compilations! I’d much rather be a man with heart and soul, than a walking library. Facts are grand, but aren’t they just someone else’s opinion?

Humiliated? Nah, I’m from the south, dude! I’ve been called every word in the dictionary at one time or another. Anything that can be said about me has already been said and rebutted.
Here’s some labels for ya! Let’s see, I’ve been called retarded, stupid, idiotic, inbred, southerner, whitey, disabled, short, tall, lame, aggressive, bastard, heathen, one-eye, blind, deaf, fucked up, domineering, asshole, jerkwad, and the like. I don’t have all day to write down them all.
How ‘bout a few good ones? Hmm….dreamer, lover, poet, gentleman, amorist, writer, lensman, romanticist, and many more pal.
Do you have any more labels? :-)
    Best

  3. Go Jefferson! What are you waiting for?! Your current president and the regime that support him and pulls his strings has done your country and its people (and the world) such a catastrophic disservice. I’m proud of you for standing up and saying it like it is. Keep thinking, keep standing up for what you know is right.

By the way, sticks and stones, eh :-) and besides, other peoples’ opinions are just that – opinions. None of us have a handle on the truth – our own perceptions are always too clouded.

  4. Respect, Jefferson.
Maybe some of your fellow countrymen should ask the government why they are force feeding Americans on a diet of national news and cherry picking the international reports.
I am not sure why you would be labeled ‘communist’ for stating a personal view?

  5. My my what a hotbed of contention! I’ve gotta say JD that I didn’t really understand the post at first. I applaud your bravity in expressing what some (not me by the way) might think an unAmerican view. We are tied to the apron strings of America and follow blindly in the name of ‘treaty’ and ‘alliance’.

I’m constantly amazed at the polarity Americans in terms of their political stance – odd since not many of them vote! Here it’s compulsary.

The views of the few Americans I know are very polarised, very black and white, very left and right when the whole situation is multiple shades of grey. Now Brian . . JD . . .peace boys, free speech without malice! And Vanilla is soooooo right. One thing about opinions . . everybody has one.

  6. Well, I would leave a snide comment only despite the fact that you Yanks love to hyphenate your name so you’re not exclusively American (I don’t call myself a Hiberno-Norman, but I digress) you all get edgy whenever someone speaks what they think. No one can say anything in America, it seems, withoput some extremist nut from one side or the other declaring war.

    Freedom of speech?

    Google China has more freedom.

  7. AV(&A), thank you very much. I will continue to think for myself. And, you are soo right on perceptions. :-)

Minx, I am a very respectful gentleman. However, I did go a wee bit too far in this post and following remark. :-) Sorry for the curse words.

Baino, I had to censor it so much that it really makes no sense. I apologise for that. I, in no way shape or form would ever condone physically harming the despot. I was simply trying to push buttons, and I did! :-)

    Verillion, so true. :-)

Daz, you got me there, buddy. How dare I speak of Ireland and Scotland, when I didn’t fight for their freedom. I do have physical proof of the battles my great-great grandfather waged in Scotland. Alas, I have nothing but an antique marriage note from County Down, Northern Ireland. No more hyphenating! I’m just a damn human being! Indeed, why must I be tagged as an American by the rest of the world, just because I was born here? Here’s a label for you! Man! :-)

  8. Fuck man! Can I not be proud of where my family came from? Jaysus! I don’t parade around in the streets, screaming, “My family is from Ireland and Scotland” to every passer by. If someone ask me, I tell them. I’m a fourth generation immigrant! :-)

At least I’m not obnoxious, unlike most of the northerners that come o’er there! I’m quiet and respectful. You’ll not find a bigger proponent for the isle of Eire than me. :)

  9. Did I imply that? Yes, in my first comment, but then I sniped at transsexuals after that. Chill, dude, chill.

And I’m a seventy-fifth generation Norman, if it makes you feel better.
