Stop!

Just stop what you are
doing!

Do you smell that? It’s
the scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut blades of grass.

Do you hear that? It’s
the buzzing of bees, flittering through the garden, shouldering the weight of
pollen from the young lilacs that have recently blossomed forth. And, you may hear the marvellous chirruping
of two Robins courting

Do you see that? It’s
the swaying of immature branches threading a phantom of a beauteous scene onto
the wall before you.

Do you taste that? It’s
the tantalising bits of honeysuckle atoms, being set aloft by a spring zephyr.

Do you feel that? It’s
the warmth of the sun, permeating through the thick window panes.

The point I’m trying to make is to go outside and enjoy
life. I walked 15 miles (24km) Thursday,
and I had an absolute blast. Stop every
once and a while and observe nature. There’s so much beauty in the world, if we only stop and pay attention
to its grandeur.

  1. You are so right. There is so much beauty in our world but most people seem blind to it. It’s a shame. Maybe if they took more notice they wouldn’t be destroying it.

  2. I like to go outside at night and look up at the stars. I enjoy standing outside in a warm summer rain. The sound of the ocean is also a nice lullaby to soothe my stress.

And nothing is better than the laughter of my kids, and a smile across their face. That is happiness at its finest.

  3. Marie, thank you for the lovely comment. And, I couldn’t agree more. It’s a pity that we don’t stop and smell the real flowers more often.

LatinWlf, ah the stars and their wondrous brilliance, gleaming the blackness that is the fabric of space and time, which binds the cosmos together.
