I have a really bad headache, due to alcohol, so here’s Brian’s rendition of Insomnia. Let us know which you like better. Peace!
I don’t know whether I’m asleep or awake,
It’s an anonymous state of being.
The walls have melted around me,
My grievous weight exposed.
A fire smolders deep and hurts my eyes,
As a murder of Crows encircles me.
I ponder where she is,
As the birds peck and mar,
They left me with a thirsty soul.
Near lifeless and scared,
I gaze at the evening star,
Does she still recall what we shared.
I attempt to stand but fall to my knees,
Forever into the abyss.
And now I delay in this hollow odor,
Eternally yearning for her touch.
Brian is a good poet and he can easily turn his verses into songs if he wants.
Jeffy, hope you recover from your hangover soon.
Aw Man, you embarrass me. It was just an exercise in taking someones elses work and adapting / plagiarizing it.
Thank you Susan, you’re too kind.
Damn you all and your artistic tendencies! I want that kind of artistic talent!
I can’t even solve a Rubik’s Cube for Christ’s sake!
Susan, I would whole-heartedly agree. And yes, I did recover brilliantly from the hangover.
Brian, you are the man!
Dario, we are all artistic in some form or another. Hell, I can also play the piano, but not good enough to be “artistic”.
Everybody has some kind of artistic ability!
Hey – I think someone stole your poem…. check this out:
