Hi folks, I’ve been mulling over a poem for two days now, but I’ve not worked out the kinks yet. However, I will publish the poem tonight, whether it is perfect or not. I’ll be back later, hopefully with a poem worth your time.
UPDATE: I’m working on another poem, but I’ll let you folks mull over this one.
**********
Only a vestige remains of our seraphic
embrace,
fading away into empty space.
Still entrapped by the luminescence,
glittering off of you,
like an overt angel,
with a captivating hue.
Still envisioning you,
glowing in the pallid moonlight,
every bead of sweat reflecting little
glints of luminance,
while I smoke another cigarette.
Every valley and mountain I’ve conquered,
is but a testament,
of how I wish you were near,
my becharming dear.
All fêtes are otiose,
without you in my ending fate.

I like it, Jeffy.
The rhythmic pace reads well.
Atmospheric & illuminating. I think too, of your few poems that I’ve read from the last month, this surely is my favourite.
Thank you, Susan. It’s just a piece of a bigger poem that will inevitably take forever, at the rate I’m going.
I’m working on a poem about the Saddam hanging. It’s kind of bleak though. Thanks for the comment, Susan.
