Hi folks, I hope you will exempt my
slackness on the blogosphere. I’ve been gnawing
over a decision I must make within a week. I can’t go into detail, but let’s just say it will affect my whole
family. And no, I’m not shooting you a
line of bull. Life’s too short for such
nonsense.
I’m still working on the short story that
I’ve been telling you about, but I’m not finished with it yet. My boss changed my schedule at work, so I’ve
had to work more, and I’m working in the evenings, which has messed up my whole
writing schedule. I had previously
planned on writing a short story everyday, but I cannot do it, at present. When I go back to school, and I start
receiving some descent hours at work, my writing will improve.
The decision I’m grappling with, will most
definitely change my entire life. Sometimes
we (Human Beings) have to do things that we don’t want to do, to get to where
we want to go. It’s far better to do
what you fear, than it is to sit back, when you are old and feeble, and wonder
what might have been, and never was. Or
what would have changed, if we were to have made a different decision, at a
certain point in our lives.
Life is so…so…finite people. Live life to the fullest and dream every
dream, like today is your last day. Oh, if
I could only go back and knock some sense into my former self, I would.
The New Year is about fresh starts and beginnings,
so I implore each of you to change something in your lives for the better, and
stick with it. Getting ahead in life is
about determination and who is the most stubborn.
Seriously,
mould your life, the way you would shape a clay pot, in the way that you
want. Life is boundless, if you believe
in yourself, and your ambitions.
Here
is my list of things I hope to accomplish in 2007, although some may change, if
I make the decision that I may make.
- Find a woman to put up with me for more than a week at a time. (LOL)
- Change my major to English Literature.
- Study in the UK,
Ireland, or anywhere in Europe. (Yes, I still want to do this, as I’ve stated several times.) - Find a descent job, deserving of my attention. (I’m not vain people, but I would appreciate a job that I merit.)
- Spend a month or two in Ireland or the UK, either studying or on holiday.
- Have more time to write.
- Finish a book, either an inspiration book, containing the life story of me, or the Scottish tale that I’ve been working on for a while.
- Be afforded a chance to show my worth. That is all that I’ve ever asked for!
- Write more poetry, but I’ve got to be in the romantic mood for that. (1.)
- Let the past, stay in the past. No, I take that back, or at least partially take it back. My history is what keeps me motivated and constantly pushing forward, so I should never forget it, even if I could. I let way too many people run over me, so perhaps I need to let out some of that temper. (That’s a dangerous idea!)
- Have more of the good times, and less of the bad.
- Make the people that have scoffed at me, look like the fools that they are.
- Take better care of myself.
- Have a brilliant 2007!
This list is just a preliminary list that I
thought up in a few moments of clarity.
Sounds like a good list, Jefferson, and I’m with you on your view on how we should live our lives. You’re quite right, it is up to us to shape and mold our life the way we want it to be. And yes, one can’t forget one’s past, because it has shaped who we are. You’re wise and determined – good for you!
All the very best for 2007 – may all your dreams come true and may success, good health, happiness and love be heaped upon you in abundance.
Good luck with all your decision making, Jeffy. Sounds promising! And I’m glad to see you’ll be writing a lot more creatively.
Don’t worry about those who scoff at you. Such people will come and go. Keep your eyes on the road ahead and let those scoffers just melt away. As you said, life is too short.
I hope your wishes come to light, Jefferson. Happy New Things!
Atyllah, I hope that you have a Happy New Year, and all of your wishes come true.
Susan, thank you for the kind words and advice. I always appreciate what you have to say.
Minx, Have a Happy New Year, and may you be blessed with everything you desire.
