Another Hurricane…Another September…

Hurricane John (What a name for a hurricane) is supposed to hit somewhere between Lazaro Cardenas and Cabo Corrientes.  Hopefully, it will dissipate before it hits the shore.  All the world needs right now, is another natural disaster.  The Mexican Government has cautioned the citizens and businesses in the hot zones and the out lying area.  However, I don’t perceive the Mexican Government doing much for its people, besides giving them a warning.

Although, the same could be said about America, for we are still reeling from Katrina.  There are still places in New Orleans that look the same as they did a week after Katrina.  Great strides are being made to redevelop New Orleans, but certainly not enough for the poverty stricken lower class.  Mississippi is another state that is going under immense change.

What say you?

It is moving northwest, parallel to the coastline, although its centre is not as yet forecast to come ashore.

The Mexican authorities have urged local people to take precautions and if necessary move to safer areas.

A hurricane warning is in effect along the Pacific coast
from Lazaro Cardenas to Cabo Corrientes, which includes areas popular
with tourists.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Hurricane
John was located about 260km (160 miles) west of Acapulco at 0800 local
time (1500 GMT).

"While the centre of John is forecast to remain just
offshore, any deviation to the right of track will bring hurricane
force winds to the coast in the warning area," it said.

UPDATE:  Wikipedia has an excellent article on the original 1994 Hurricane John, which traveled further than any other hurricane on record.  Both John’s started out in the same area.  It is interesting how history repeats itself, and it’s even more ironic that both of these hurricanes are named "John".
